POSITION OVERVIEW
Position title: Assistant Project Scientist
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The UCLA Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine (DAPM), in tandem with the Division of Molecular Medicine (DMM), is inviting applications for an Assistant Project Scientist to become part of a growing team in the Cai Lab performing research on a variety of topics related to molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular programs.
The role of the future Assistant Project Scientist will include but are not limited to:
Incumbent will be performing cutting-edge research using state of the art molecular biology techniques and unique methodologies examining redox signaling (electron spin resonance)
Incumbent is expected to work independently in the execution and troubleshooting of experiments.
Incumbent is expected to have existing background to work proficiently with experimental rodents.
Incumbent is expected to conduct data analyses of experimental results using professional statistical softwares.
Incumbent is expected to prepare data figures and draft manuscripts for professional publishing.
Required experience and skills
The minimum educational requirement is a Ph.D. in Biomedicine on related fields with strong expertise in molecular biology, cell biology, and pathophysiology.
Technical proficiencies in handling of genetic strains of mice.
Years of postdoctoral experience and productivity in research are required and preferred.
Creative contributions to research and/or publication track record in the form of peer-reviewed publications in high impact journals.
