We’re looking for an Anti-Abuse Analyst to join Snapchat’s Customer and Review Operations organization! Working cross-functionally across the company, you will be responsible for efforts related to security and privacy, including analysis, reporting, and strategy development. An Anti-Abuse Analyst will facilitate the implementation of best practices, insight into spam and abuse patterns, opportunities for research and development of abuse prevention strategies, and optimization of existing processes. Working from our Santa Monica, CA headquarters, you’ll collaborate with Customer Operations, Engineering, and our product teams to help keep Snapchatters safe and limit the opportunity for abuse on the platform.

What you'll do:

  • Perform analysis on existing and newly emerging abuse trends, including sampling support inquiries to understand the experience and impact to the Snapchat Community.

  • Identify behavior patterns of malicious actors to understand motive, tactics, and beyond.

  • Work cross-functionally to enhance and develop ways to identify and surface abusive behavior

  • Identify automation opportunities both in the product and support experience to ascertain and mitigate risk

  • Enhance operational workflows via process improvements

  • Use data to influence decisions and give voice to user-impacting issues

  • Anticipate abuse risks, provide escalation management, negotiate with decision makers, and balance business needs versus technical constraints

  • Work closely with Quality Assurance, Product, and Engineering teams, providing them with timely metrics and analysis, investigating potential account access issues, and following up with Snapchatters as needed

  • Research industry trends

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient data and quantitative analysis skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal oversight

  • Ability to create visuals, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate your insights

  • Great judgment and ability to problem-solve, both independently and with peers

  • Flexibility to adapt to constantly changing business needs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience

  • 2+ years of experience with SQL and building data pipelines to identify trends

  • Experience analyzing data to make data-driven decisions

  • Experience with Looker, Tableau, Power Blocker BI, or other similar programs

  • Experience managing multiple projects end to end

  • Experience with JIRA or similar issue tracking software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience investigating spam, or other types of abuse is a huge plus!

  • Ability to write advanced SQL queries

  • Data driven with proven track record managing data sets, and reporting to inform decision making

  • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the company

  • Developed perspective on prominent trends and issues in the online safety world

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $114,000-$171,000 annually.

Zone B (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $108,000-$163,000 annually.

Zone C (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $97,000-$145,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
