What will you be doing in this role?

The Cedars-Sinai International (CSI) Administrative Residency is a 12-month paid training program that cultivates the development of outstanding individuals committed to careers in healthcare with a strong interest in global business development, process improvement, project management, marketing, and finance. Under the mentorship of the CSI VP & Medical Director and/or executive leaders, the Administrative Resident will have the opportunity to work in a multifaceted international program through project-oriented work within CSI.

The Administrative Resident is responsible for the completion of projects as assigned by CSI. The position will be assigned projects in International Patient Services (IPS) and Global Services (GS) as a lead, co-lead, facilitator of meetings, or support, depending on the scope and purpose of the project. The incumbent will report directly to a CSI Director, and will have all project deliverables reviewed by a member of both the Patient Services and/or Global Services team. The range of projects and mentoring relationships may include: International Patient Intake and Coordination, Patient Experience, Business & Decision Support, Finance, Billing & Collections, Care Management, and Embassy Relations while working with an established in-country teams. Global Business Development projects may include business improvement and business development program research.

  • Establishes learning outcomes with Mentor. Define project(s), charters and timelines.

  • Meets at established intervals with Mentor to review learning outcomes and progress.

  • Shadows leaders as assigned to understand departmental and institutional goals, programs, projects, and impact.

  • Develops interpersonal, analytical, and management skills.

  • Facilitate and lead meetings towards fulfillment of objectives or goals.

  • Learns the operations of primary department where the fellow has been placed.

  • Contributes the Cedars-Sinai mission through the lens of the department where the fellow is placed.

  • Provides any and all services required for successful completion of project deliverables (meeting minutes, meeting coordination and research, etc.)

  • In collaboration with mentor, defines and develops a project plan and coordinate activities necessary to meet agreed upon objectives and deliverables while maintaining status updates for all partners.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in a relevant field (Master of public health or health administration, etc.) highly preferred.

  • Lean Sigma – Lean six sigma or PMP preferred.

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in business, healthcare, or a related field required.

  • International healthcare experience preferred.
