ProSphere Tek Software Engineer, DevOps / Platform in Los Alamos, New Mexico

Overview

Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking a remote Software Engineer, DevOps /Platform to support our team at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

LANL is undertaking a software delivery transformation initiative utilizing both modern cloud platforms and DevSecOps practices - using a modern tooling. As a core part of initiative, the Platform Team is responsible for providing software delivery as a service to developers across the institution. We are seeking a trailblazing engineer with proven/documented experience in DevOps and/or Platform Engineering. The primary objective of this position is to help shape the platforms and modernize enterprise software delivery across LANL using zero trust principles. Ideally, the successful candidate will have led or participated in a previous DevOps transformation to the cloud or platform engineering.

Qualifications:

• Python or Go Programming

• Agile & LEAN Principles and Practices

• Software Development Lifecycle

• CI/CD & Continuous Delivery

• Managing Infrastructure at Scale

• Deep understanding of building and managing infrastructure within Amazon Web Services

• OWASP Principles and Practices

• Experience working in a constrained, high security environment such as FedRAMP High, PCI, HIPAA or Sarbanes-Oxley

• Metrics, Monitoring, and Observability

• Awareness of Cloud Native Computing Foundation Projects and Principles

• Experience in Zero Trust Principles

• GitLab

• Experience implementing and using Terraform

Minimum Requirements

• Position requires a bachelor’s degree and 12 years related experience.

• Preferably a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering

• Experience of administering and managing Linux systems at scale, to include:

• Expertise with networking design, implementation and operations

• Proficient knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies

• Advanced knowledge of various infrastructure methodologies such as security, name services, etc.
