Job Summary: LANL is undertaking a software delivery transformation initiative utilizing both modern cloud platforms and DevSecOps practices - using a modern tooling. As a core part of initiative, the Platform Team is responsible for providing software delivery as a service to developers across the institution.

We are seeking a trailblazing engineer with proven/documented experience in DevOps and/or Platform Engineering. The primary objective of this position is to help shape the platforms and modernize enterprise software delivery across LANL using zero trust principles. Ideally, the successful candidate will have led or participated in a previous DevOps transformation to the cloud or platform engineering.

Requirements:

Experience of administering and managing Linux systems at scale, to include:

• Expertise with networking design, implementation and operation.
• Proficient knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies.
• Advanced knowledge of various infrastructure methodologies such as security, name services, and so on.

Education:

Position requires a bachelors degree and 12 years related experience. Preferably a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering.

• Metrics, Monitoring, and Observability
• Awareness of Cloud Native Computing Foundation Projects and Principles
• Experience in Zero Trust Principles
• GitLab
• Experience implementing and using Terraform
