POSITION DESCRIPTION Summary: The Project Management Resource Center is seeking a Software Developer to join the PMRC Information Technology Group (PMRC-IT) at LANL. Supports software applications and systems by investigating, designing, documenting and implementing software solutions. Works with customers, product owners, and end users to understand business needs. Develops concepts for information system solutions and evaluates the cost-effectiveness of these concepts. Works collaboratively as part of a team working on assigned tasks, guided by more experienced team members. Fosters strong relationships with customers, peers and service providers. Identifies and addresses productivity impediments, and promotes work process improvements. Demonstrated seasoned professional, applies modern software development techniques to resolve a variety of issues. Uses skills to contribute to the development of solutions that achieve goals in creative and effective ways. Develops and/or implements advanced concepts, techniques, and standards. Has impact on success of future concepts, products or technologies. Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range targets. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Position typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Ability to obtain a Q if needed. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with modern software development methodologies, tools and processes, including agile frameworks, tools and techniques Demonstrated knowledge and experience with programming languages, database design, security strategies and component integration Demonstrated knowledge and experience with automation and strategies for achieving DevSecOps Demonstrated knowledge of hardware and software integration and testing.Ability to review and understand end-to-end work processes. Ability to translate technical terms to layperson's terms and present them to non-technical audiences. Skill in working closely with customers and suppliers to define expectations and mutual responsibilities. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience on DOE sites and programs, Current Q Clearance or Top Secret Clearance. SCRUM and Agile certifications desired, certifications in any of the software knowledge requirements is also desired. LOCATION Los Alamos, New Mexico 5/8s or 4/10s are possible. Hybrid Position - some on-site needed but not 100%. Local candidates preferred. No OT is expected. Initial 24 month assignment.
