Job Title: Quality Inspector II

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector II to perform in-process and final inspections of products used in airframe and missile manufacturing. The ideal candidate will analyze engineering blueprints, process specifications, and other documents to determine inspection requirements, ensuring compliance with military, space, and commercial standards.

Responsibilities

  • Determine practical inspection methods and techniques; plan sequence of operations; select precision measuring instruments and equipment.

  • Perform surface table inspections using standard positioning, measuring, and layout instruments.

  • Conduct first article, receiving, in-process, and final inspections of a wide variety of airframe parts and aerospace assemblies/components.

  • Witness first piece part production and certify acceptability; observe in-process inspections during component build-up and sub-assembly stages.

  • Inspect incoming materials (metallic, fiber, plastic, rubber) for correct formulation, serialization, identification, cure date, and shelf life; verify vendor and material certifications.

  • Inspect reinforced plastic and rubber products for delaminating, blisters, porosity, bond, elasticity, gauge surface smoothness, and similar defects.

  • Check configuration and part dimensions with or without assembly check gauges, fixtures, and tooling.

  • Monitor oven and cure processes, record temperature readings and dwell time; perform or observe pressurization and leak tests using plant air, nitrogen, and helium.

  • Coordinate rejections with MRB, engineering, and customer representatives for depositions and process refinement.

  • Assemble end item documentation for review and acceptance of finished products and maintain history files, records, and reports.

Essential Skills

  • High School degree or GED required; related AA or trade school degree preferred.

  • 4-5+ years of related Quality Control inspection experience.

  • Proficient in reading and analyzing engineering drawings and blueprints.

  • Proficient in the use of basic inspection tools, including calipers, scales, height gauges, optical aids, micrometers, and GD&T.

  • Experience with production processes such as assembly, forming, tooling, welding, heat treat, and cleaning.

  • Knowledge of metallic materials such as stainless steel, nickel, titanium, and aluminum.

  • Experience with composite materials and production processes such as elastomers, resins, and composite reinforcement materials.

  • Familiarity with AS9102 standards and software, and military specifications.

  • Good organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate, complete documentation.

  • Problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Proficient with the Internet, MS Word/Outlook.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector preferred.

  • Experience working in an AS9100 production environment.

  • Experience using Net-Inspect standards and software preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
