PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a Composite Associate 4, in Los Alamitos, CA. Job ID#210215

Pay Rate: $24.62

Job Description:

-This position will perform fabrication of Arrowhead Products Composite/Non-Metal components & products. It is a combination of the following jobs: Wire Machine -Stripping, Wire Machine Operator, and Wire Machine Specialist.

-Perform setup and operation of ultra-lightweight equipment per specifications and planning requirements.

-Will fabricate wire ducts, shrouds, sleeves and hand push ducting.

-Will identify part defects and make proper corrections.

-Will cut and prep cuffs per blueprint and production planning specifications.

-Will cure, strip and coat ducting as required.

-Will perform spray coating and stripping operations of various parts using build mandrels.

-Fabricate various types of wire and hand push ducting.

-Verify incoming material and components are compliant to the approved specifications.

-Painting, vacuum bagging and curing of various parts.

-Remove minor imperfections using mechanical, manual and chemical methods according to approved process instructions.

-Will share job knowledge in machine operations for coating and bagging.

-May assist M.E. in developing new processes.

-Record all trace ability information of material used and log on shop travelers.

-Will maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, FOD-free fashion and adhere to all Safety standards

-This job description is not all inclusive of all duties. Other job duties consistent with the Composite Associate Job Family may be assigned.

Specialist level will require the following:

  • Responsible for assisting the department in the development of techniques to increase productivity, quality, and throughput of products and to share job knowledge in the department.

Education and Experience:

-High School Diploma or equivalent; previous manufacturing experience may be substituted for education requirement.

-Employees must bid into these classifications before progression is allowed to higher levels.

-Specialist - Progression/Bid into Specialist positions requires 3 years minimum in the preceding classification, in the same family, prior to progression/bid.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

-To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. -Knowledge of compounds, cure release agents, care and maintenance, and good knowledge of records, planning and spec. Requirements.

-Ability to interpret blueprints, work orders and production planing documents.

-Ability to use standard manufacturing measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, scales, and depth gauges, etc.

-Must be capable of working with tight tolerances such as + or - .001'.

-Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

-Ability to perform quality work in a safe and efficient manner.
