GE Vernova Lead Nuclear Projects Quality Engineer in Longmont, Colorado

Job Description Summary

Our Nuclear Customers and regulators expect flawless project performance and complete traceability to standards and contract compliance. Project Quality Engineers will review those standards and contracts to develop Project Quality Plans, support Validation and Verification (V&V) design efforts, ensure assembly and acceptance testing conformance, and resolve Non-Conformances. As a technical leader this PQE will also provide oversite of variable Project Quality Engineers assigned.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide governance and oversight for other Project Quality Engineers assigned to Nuclear Projects

  • Develop and deploy Project Quality Plans, including Software Quality Planning.

  • Review and support Table of Compliance analysis for Nuclear Standards cited in contracts.

  • Audit assigned projects to assure compliance to QMS and regulatory standards while reducing risk. Own certificates of compliance.

  • Support customer audits to demonstrate compliance and performance.

  • Support Project Managers to engage in frequent customer interaction - represent the voice of the customer to the Project Team.

  • Conduct daily Project Gemba - represent the voice of employees on quality.

  • Ensure project lessons learned are screened with finding, continuous improvement and corrective actions tracked.

  • Collaborate with all functions (Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Operations, Global Supply Chain, Sourcing, Services) to Stop the Line early, resolve defects quickly, gather lessons learned and implement improvement actions as needed.

  • Communicate and mentor widely to cultivate a quality culture of customer passion, compliance, and waste reduction.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university or college or High School Diploma/GED with highly relevant nuclear power generation experience.

  • At least 5 years experience in Quality role or Commercial / Operations with demonstrated Quality functional experience

  • Experience in Nuclear Power Generation.

Desired Characteristics

  • Process experience in Software and Electronics Industry. Critical infrastructure experience a plus.

  • Able to learn Systems, Processes and Tools quickly.

  • Proven experience leading Quality standards implementations.

  • Proven experience solving quality problems directly - can provide examples of hands on solutioning through full problem-solving cycles.

  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively - sustaining relationships while driving rapid organizational changes.

  • Cross functional leadership experience in Operations, Services, Engineering or Projects.

The base pay range for this position is $ 118,300 - $197,200. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 15 % performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. ​

*The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
