Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting a Medical Dosimetrist to provide onsite services to eligible beneficiaries of the Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center located at 5901 E. 7th St. Long Beach, CA 90822. The schedule is typically Monday-Friday, 0800-1630 with an option of compressed schedule of 10-hour shifts/4 days week, 0700-1730 and call.

Responsibilities
Design treatment plans using computer and/or manual computation to deliver prescribed radiation doses
Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists and Medical Physicists in treatment planning for various modalities, including SRS/SRT, HDR brachytherapy, IMRT, IGRT, and LDR brachytherapy
Consider dose-limiting structures in treatment plan designs and document doses in accordance with Radiation Oncologist prescriptions
Assist with treatment simulations and tumor localization on dedicated devices, including CT and MRI
Plan and oversee fabrication of compensating filters, custom shields, wedges, and other beam modifying devices
Assist in planning and supervise production of molds, casts, and other immobilization devices
Support radiation therapy staff in implementing treatment plans, including the correct use of immobilization devices, compensators, wedges, field arrangements, and other treatment variables
Perform calculations for prescribed dose delivery and document in patient files
Verify the mathematical accuracy of all calculations using established systems
Provide dosimetry and technical support to Medical Physicists in radiation protection, qualitative and quantitative machine calibration, and quality assurance of radiation therapy equipment
Assist in the application of specific dosimetry methods, including ion chamber, TLD, or film measurements as directed by Medical Physicists
Participate in quality assurance activities and peer review processes
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all treatment planning activities
Stay current with evolving technologies and treatment techniques in radiation oncology
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Medical Dosimetry, Radiation Therapy, or related field
Certification as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
Minimum of 2 years of continuous work experience within the last 3 years as a Medical Dosimetrist
Proficiency in:
Varian Linear Accelerators (TrueBeam with Brain Lab and Rapid Arc or equivalent)
Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) including Cone Beam CT
Eclipse treatment planning system and ARIA record & verify system
Treatment modalities including SRS, SRT, SBRT, and IMRT
IMRT QA systems (e.g., MapCheck, ArcCheck)
CT Simulators (e.g., GE Discovery)
Experience in a healthcare system with ACR or APEx certification preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
Ability to pass a government background check and complete required VA training
All candidates must be able to:
Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
Lift up to 20 lbs
Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
