Robert Half Inventory Accountant in Long Beach, California

Description We are offering an employment opportunity in the Oil & Gas industry based in Long Beach, California, for an Inventory Analyst. This role is pivotal in maintaining accurate inventory records and enhancing inventory practices within our organization.

Responsibilities

• Review and correct inventory exception reports, including average weight cost changes and margin changes.

• Validate and rectify inventory transfers and reported data.

• Perform thorough analysis to identify inconsistencies in inventory reports, and make recommendations for changes in inventory practices.

• Correct wrong item listings and execute critical merchandise adjustments.

• Execute cost adjustments in the ERP system to ensure accurate tracking of sales, price, and margin reporting.

• Perform store audit variances based on reported inconsistencies and make corrections in the ERP to ensure accurate reporting.

• Review margins and identify inventory statistics inconsistencies, perform deeper investigations, and recommend process adjustments.

• Identify areas of opportunity for additional reporting to improve visibility of inventory processes and recommend new reports for development.

• Identify slow-moving items and recommend inventory adjustments and changes to product selection.

• Utilize Excel Formulas, Excel VBA, and Microsoft Excel for inventory accounting, inventory analysis, and inventory audits.

• Utilize Major ERP System for asset inventory and fixed asset inventory management.

• Conduct analysis to ensure efficient and accurate inventory controls. Requirements • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including Excel Formulas and Excel VBA

• Experience in Asset Inventory and Fixed Asset Inventory

• Knowledge of Inventory Accounting and Inventory Analysis

• Proven experience in conducting Inventory Audits

• Familiarity with Inventory Controls

• Ability to work with Major ERP Systems

• Strong analytical skills

• Prior experience in the Oil & Gas industry

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, finance, or a related field is preferred.
