Charles Schwab Senior Specialist - Regulatory Reporting in Lone Tree, Colorado

The Bank Regulatory Reporting Team is part of the Corporate Controller’s department and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the Company’s regulatory financial reports and other performance metric disclosures. Reports are prepared for the corporation and its subsidiaries, including the parent holding company (The Charles Schwab Corporation), the broker-dealer companies, three bank charters, and multiple nonbanking subsidiaries. Due to the company’s growth and expansion of regulatory obligations, the team has taken on additional reporting responsibilities, necessitating several initiatives ranging from automation to improving processes to allow for additional analysis. The group takes a team-based approach to prepare reports and is looking for a new member to help support its ongoing reporting responsibilities and project initiatives. What you have

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

· Minimum of 3 years GAAP accounting experience, including specific experience with financial reporting.

· Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

· Critical thinker motivated to learn with an aptitude for detail and accuracy.

· Ability to clearly document the work, trend and variances and meet strict deadlines.

· High proficiency using MS Excel and working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications

· Other desirable experience:

· Relevant banking or financial services accounting experience

· Awareness of or experience with SQL and related applications such as Microsoft Access, Microsoft Power Query, Toad Data Point or Alteryx

· Prior regulatory reporting experience (i.e. Call Report or SEC 10-Q/10-K)

· Certified Public Accountant (CPA), other public accounting or consulting experience

What you’ll do:

· Participate in a team-based process preparing required regulatory financial reports.

· Independently research and interpret regulatory rules, guidance, and report instructions.

· Prepare draft reports supported by clear, detailed, and accurate work papers.

· Analyze draft report results and trends, documenting impacts and drivers of periodic change.

· Maintain current process documentation.

· Collaborate with other functional teams to develop working relationships with data providers.

· Continually develop skills in using Excel and other data management tools to enhance productivity.

· Exercise personal time management skills to meet strict deadlines.

· Serve as a flexible team member working on ad hoc requests and projects as needed.

In addition to the salary range, this position is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities

CO Salary Range: USD $65,300 - $133,500 / Year
