Kiewit Infrastructure Co. Lead Estimator [KWT-CO23-RIALJ] in Lone Tree, Colorado

Kiewit Infrastructure Co., has a position in Lone Tree, Colorado.

Lead Estimator - DUTIES - Develop complete estimates for large, complex jobs. Assist estimators in the preparation of check estimates for other work, reviewing estimates prepared by other estimating groups or JV partners to determine completeness of data used, procedures, and aiding in resolving differences in bid items. Review owner plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project. Develop plan for the actual construction to serve as basis for estimate. Review all bid and contract documents and home office legal department opinions. Conduct site investigation prior to forming a plan of operations to identify any problems or conditions of an unusual nature. This includes working with: On-Site field experience in heavy civil construction projects; understanding of typical construction technology and practices in heavy civil construction; hands on experience with direct supervision and subcontractor oversight as the prime contractor; estimating experience in heavy civil construction projects including change orders on construction projects; experience using commercial construction estimating software (preferably Hard Dollar), Microsoft Office products, and AutoCAD; review owner plans and specifications, develop a plan for construction, research past cost and appropriate equipment; and presenting change orders and/or complete estimates to managers and executives; ability to lead a small team (1-3 people) through take-off, estimating, presentation and review of the project. Travel required 15%.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 7 years of experience. Also, 5 years of experience stated herein to involve: (1) On-Site field experience in heavy civil construction projects; understanding of typical construction technology and practices in heavy civil construction; hands on experience with direct supervision and subcontractor oversight as the prime contractor; (2) estimating experience in heavy civil construction projects including change orders on construction projects; experience using commercial construction estimating software (preferably Hard Dollar), Microsoft Office products, and AutoCAD; review owner plans and specifications, develop a plan for construction, research past cost and appropriate equipment; and (3) presenting change orders and/or complete estimates to managers and executives; ability to lead a small team (1-3 people) through take-off, estimating, presentation and review of the project.
