Job Description:

The Sr Manager of Supplier Quality and Development is responsible for leading a supplier quality engineering team to drive quality improvement initiatives, with a focus on supplier quality. S/he will also be responsible for driving quality strategies to develop a proactive and preventative culture of quality, and ensuring the Quality Management System provides products and services that meet the needs of our customers and business with on-time delivery of quality parts. Effective collaboration with procurement, manufacturing, design engineering and quality assurance is critical to the role. Duties will include developing, maintaining, monitoring, and issue resolution to ensure compliant parts, support New Product Introduction for product development and launch. This position is in Londonderry, NH.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead team of supplier quality professionals and technicians to manage and improve supplier quality.

  • Provide leadership and project management for supplier development and transitions.

  • Develop and execute on a strategy to organize, direct and report on all strategic supplier quality-related activities for IVS.

  • Work with new and existing suppliers to develop, implement, and maintain technical quality assurance systems and activities, to include SPC, Quality Plans, Control Plans, and FMEAs.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor supplier performance initiatives, including supplier management, supplier certification, process improvements, supplier forums, audits, and selection activities.

  • Collaborate with the IVS Supply Chain, Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering team members to resolve issues and improve overall supplier performance.

  • Initiate targeted Zero Defect Plans with suppliers to improve overall quality.

  • Lead the team in transition to Expo Supplier Quality collaboration portal to

  • Manage Supplier Corrective Action Request program to ensure consistency in handling corrective actions by strategic suppliers

  • Ensure proper approval and documentation practices are followed for any process, material or tooling change (SCR - Supplier Change Request) at suppliers.

  • Define and manage the process for growing effective "partnerships" with preferred suppliers (to drive optimal performance) founded on common interest and which demonstrate trust, loyalty and financial success.

  • Develop and implement supplier surveillance program for critical suppliers.

  • Manage the supplier quality KPI’s. Reporting, corrective actions and Return to Green plans.

  • Translate engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements for outsourced finished products.

  • Perform deviation investigations into quality issues arising from supplier activities.

  • Collaborate with the NPI team to understand future suppliers and their associated quality and development plans.

  • Responsible for ensuring that effective up-to-date supplier Quality Assurance documentation, procedures and specifications are maintained.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and cost reduction with existing and new strategic suppliers.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years' experience or Graduate Degree with 10 years’ experience in managing Quality Systems, with minimum 5 years Supplier Quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001

  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Zero Defect Planning (ZDP)

  • ASQ Certified Quality Manager or Certified Supplier Quality Professional is a plus, including five or more years of experience with AS9100 and/or ISO based systems.

  • Previous experience in ETQReliance and Expo Quality Collaboration Tool is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Works well with management and peers, can work well with other functions and be comfortable briefing site leadership

  • Ability to identify, interpret and apply problem solving tools such as root cause analysis,8D, DMAIC, VSM, PDCA and CAPA.

  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP planning software.

  • Lean and Six Sigma experience & certification preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in: supply chain management and supplier development, stakeholder management, risk/issue management, implementation planning, training/communication, scope management.

  • Working knowledge of inspection and test techniques, quality assurance procedures, statistical analysis, product usage and device regulations.

  • Strong analytic skills with practical knowledge of how to identify key performance quality metrics to set targets for maintaining a state of compliance while identifying areas for improvement.

  • Strong leadership and management skills; experience working with all levels of management and consulting with key business stakeholders. An ability to influence for greater outcomes.

  • Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution oriented.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills, good interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, negotiation and time management skills (see general competencies).

  • Understanding and application of domestic and international regulatory requirements.

  • Experience developing processes, writing procedures and training hourly and exempt associates.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of product
