Overview

The Sorenson Legacy Foundation Center for Clinical Excellence (SCCE) seeks candidates for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) position.  The BCBA Clinician II will be hired to work in the Behavior Support Services (BSS) Clinic. Applicants with a focus in these areas are encouraged to apply:

Located on the main campus in Logan, Utah.  This is a 1.0 FTE, 12-month fiscal year position. This position is contingent upon funding.

 

Review of applications is ongoing and will continue until the position is filled.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Identifying appropriate patients for BSS waitlist and/or providing appropriate referrals

  • Overseeing BSS-specific/DHHS training and compliance requirements for all staff, students, and faculty

  • Completing or assisting with insurance prior authorization (PA)/request/renewal documentation

  • Providing supervision of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) to meet certification requirements

  • Reviewing progress notes for accuracy/completion/feedback

  • Assisting in administrative clinical operations (e.g., ordering needed materials/supplies)Reviewing BSS-specific consent forms with new caregivers/patients (as needed)

  • Scheduling and/or communicating with insurance companies regarding denied PAs/scheduling peer-to-peers (as needed)

  • Supporting continuity of care for patients who require severe behavior services that may require billing of T codes

  • Participating in SCCE administrative meetings (e.g., compliance, directors meeting, BSS clinical meetings, interprofessional education seminar, etc.)

  • Providing administrative assistance to billing, onboarding, Client Care Representatives, etc. (answering questions, fixing issues, training, etc.)

  • Participating in weekly meetings with Doctoral student BCBAs to go over cases

  • Carrying a caseload to support 20 billable hours per week

  • Assisting other BSS BCBAs in meeting case responsibilities (as needed)

     

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • A master's degree in applied behavior analysis or a closely related field

  • Current BCBA certification

  • Current Utah licensure (or ability to secure licensure by hire date) as a Licensed Behavior Analyst

  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a diverse and inclusive team setting

  • Demonstrated expertise in supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities

  • Comprehensive understanding of ASD-specific and behavioral health medical terminology including familiarity with ABA billing codes as outlined by the ABA Coding Coalition

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • A doctoral degree in ABA or related field
