Job Title: Electrician Helper

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrician with 1-2 years of experience in solar electrical scope leading a crew. The role involves working on a ground-mounted commercial solar farm, installing the electrical scope of the project. The candidate should have the ability to bend conduit, complete wire terminations, trenching experience, and read blueprints. Attention to detail and willingness to work overtime are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a fast-paced environment while staying mindful of safety and quality.

  • Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving project safety performance.

  • Check work along the way to ensure adherence to code and specifications.

  • Ensure company equipment, materials, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.

  • Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.

  • Unload trucks and stage materials in the field.

  • Coordinate actions with other workers on busy construction sites.

  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of solutions to problems to choose the most successful and cost-effective one.

  • Work in a production environment where daily production goals are set, evaluated, and optimized.

  • Anticipate and solve problems.

Essential Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in solar electrical scope leading a crew.

  • Ability to bend conduit, complete wire terminations, and trenching experience.

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Ability to assign daily tasks.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Willingness to work overtime.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 certification.

  • Experience as a solar installer, journeyman electrician, or solar electrician.

  • Skills in wiring, conduit bending, wire pulling, MC 4 connections, and blue print reading.

  • Experience using hand tools and construction tools.

  • Strong teamwork orientation.

  • Positive attitude and task orientation.

This is a large EPC with a lot of opportunities for growth. We have multiple projects forecasted in the area with a log of work that will go through this year and next year. We provide on-the-job training for entry-level candidates. Solar construction is one of the fastest-growing industries in NY.

Work Environment

The project is located in an old farm field with conditions that can be wet and muddy. Candidates will work in inclement weather. Hours are M-F 7:30 am-5:00 pm and Saturdays 7:30 am-4:00 pm, with mandatory overtime when requested. There are portable toilets on-site, no shelter or trailer for changing or staging, and a strict no cell phone policy. Candidates must be prepared to work in the weather conditions present each day. Per diem is $125 per day worked, non-negotiable.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lodi, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00
