Clinton County Commissioners Second Deputy Treasurer in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania

The Clinton County Treasurer is accepting applications for an anticipated full-time Second Deputy Treasurer. Candidates for this position must possess High School Diploma or equivalent with vocational/ technical training in book keeping/ clerical experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Must be able to perform tasks using Microsoft Word and Excel. Requires the ability to multi-task. Additionally, must have a valid driver's license, satisfactory pre-employment drug screen, background check, and completion of the computer skills testing.

Summary: The purpose of this position is to assist the public, balance and maintain the Treasurer's State Account and assist the Treasurer in performing the operations of the office. The work is performed under the direction of the Treasurer. Essential Functions: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. • Addresses issues that arise during the absence of the Deputy Treasurer or Treasurer. • Balances the State Account monthly with the Treasurer. • Performs daily accounting and balancing functions including posting receipts. On a daily, monthly basis, balances all checks, cash, and computer entries. • Processes licenses. Runs daily financial reports; reconciles monies with licenses sold; enters daily figures into computer spreadsheet. • Runs report daily to balance the real estate taxes collected with the Treasurer. • Collects and prepares receipts for payments; collects payments for license fees, collects money for delinquent real estate taxes, etc. • Prepares tax collector reports and letters regarding discrepancies in tax payments. • Verifies Statement of Commission for tax collectors pay. • Initiates and Processes Stay of Sale agreements for tax payers, prepares and mails monthly default notices, and maintains the file. • Records funds collected by tax collectors for County real estate taxes. Records all funds collected by the County. • Maintains and orders all supplies for licenses, checks in all yearly licenses. • Prepares and mails tax bills and notices regarding delinquent payments. • Prepare Tax Certifications for Sheriff Sales. • Runs year end reports, to finalize all totals for amounts collected during the year for County Auditors and tax collectors, as well as verify total due. Assists in settling Tax collectors' year end.
