Garner Behavior Services, LLC Behavior Health Technician - BHT in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania

POSITION SUMMARY: The positions of BHT and RBT provide provides individualized, one-to-one ABA support to children in both a clinic, community, school/preschool and home setting.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Training and Experience for Behavior Health Technician/RBT:

  • High School Degree (provide official transcript of highest level of education)
  • Must complete required 40-hour ABA training
  • Physically able to meet demands of position
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Able to move and twist
  • Able to get on floor and quickly stand up
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting in child size chairs, standing, etc) for extended periods of time
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and communication system (cell phone)
  • Must be willing and able to block aggression and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the treatment plan
  • Must accept typical risks when working with children with challenging behaviors
  • Must be able to take feedback from supervisor and implement feedback
  • Must be able to decipher detailed information through oral communication
  • Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through a variety of modalities
  • Must have basic English reading skills and basic math skills (addition, figuring out percentages, etc)
  • Provide copies of current CPR, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprinting, Criminal Clearance, and copy of degree/transcript, and three professional references
  • May not have any report or history of ethical issues, legal actions against you, felonies, or misdemeanors 

Registered Behavior Technicians:

RBT's must meet the BHT requirements in addition to:

  • Obtaining RBT Certification. GBS will provide competency assessment on-site
  • Maintaining RBT certification (renewing yearly, fee is responsibility of employee)
  • Assisting with assessments, FBA, graphing, staff training and additional responsibilities as assigned by the BC-ABA

Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES of all Technicians:

  • Implementation of treatment plan
  • Provide direct intervention or support in 1:1 or group settings
  • Implement treatment plan utilizing intensive behavioral interventions
  • Follow prescribed behavior skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
  • Record data for behavior protocols and graph data for analysis
  • Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when working with clients
  • Assist with behavior assessments as needed by LBS/BCBA
  • Collaborate with team and families
  • Write daily service notes and weekly update notes
  • Maintain paperwork in program book
  • Report directly to Behavior Consultant or Lead RBT
  • Follow the BACB Ethical and Professional Guidelines

SUPERVISION:

  • Both BHT and RBTs must receive supervision related to the implementation of treatment plans and interventions with the assigned clients. Supervisors will be assigned.
  • o 5% of your intervention hours will be supervised and documented:
  • Technician working 10hrs/wk = ½ hr supervision per week
  • Technician working 20hrs/wk = 1 hr supervision per week
  • Technician working 30hrs/wk = 1.5 hrs supervision per week
  • Two documented face to face meetings per month, one of which must be with a client

OTHER:

  • Comply with all GBS policies, procedures, rules and regulations, both written and oral
  • Maintain a positive attitude when working with clients and co-workers
  • Employee will maintain professionalism, act ethically, and model appropriate language, attitude and behavior for clients and co-workers
  • Work as a team and maintain positive relationships with coworkers
  • Assist with general upkeep of center
  • Maintain client hygiene and assist with ADLs: change diapers, assist with clean up, change clie t clothing when necessary
  • Additional duties may be requested by your supervisor or Clinical/Administrative Director as necessary for client's specific individualized treatment plan or staff's individualized training needs
  • Be reliable and timely in all aspects of employment
  • Submit all paperwork in a timely fashion
  • Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when working with clients
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Collaborate with team and families timely and professionally
