CT Technologist

Full-time, 40 hours

Night Shift

Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs quality Computed Tomographic (CT) imaging used to aide in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and pathology. Possess the experience and ability to perform a variety of procedures at a technical level that requires independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative to operate CT machines according to protocol using ALARA principles.

The applicant must have excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients, physicians, and co-workers on a professional level. Must have knowledge and understanding of cross sectional anatomy and medical terminology. Must have knowledge of accessing electronic medical records for review of patient history to determine proper scan protocols based on physician order, patient history, and be able to identify contraindications to IV and oral contrast preparations. Have a basic understanding of CT department operations. Have a basic understanding of CT equipment to quickly resolve basic equipment and computer issues. Have the ability to stand, walk, and assist in transferring or lifting of patients. Have the ability to move or lift departmental supplies and equipment as needed.

High school graduation or equivalent. Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA or JRCERT approved school. Registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Advanced Certification in Computerized Tomography is preferred. Applicant must possess CT Advanced Certification within one year of date of hire. Toshiba 64 slice or higher experience preferred. Two years of experience as a Radiology Technologist and a minimum of one year of CT diagnostic imaging experience preferred. BCLS required.
