Job Summary: The Construction Project Coordinator will support the Facilities Department's project team by managing projects and tasks to successful completion within approved budget and timeframe while accomplishing quality deliverables. The role will develop project estimates, distribute plans and specifications for bidding, and perform onsite coordination of installs to oversee project completion. The role will interact frequently with internal and external teams, customers, engineers, suppliers, and contractors. This position is based in Livonia, MI and is 100% onsite.             *                                                *As a Construction Project Coordinator, you will:

  • Coordinate on-site construction installation with contractors and suppliers
  • Control project related correspondence and documents, including defining customer requirements to project architect, engineers, and other team members
  • Estimate industrial construction projects
  • Manage all activities budgets, material acquisition and their installation for assigned projects     
  • Plan and schedule resources to meet project milestones 
  • Maintain customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and quality of service
  • Undertake field measuring to guide in-house Computer-Aided Design (CAD) staff to update corporate buildings plans.

To be considered a Construction Project Coordinator, you will need:

  • Associate degree in a construction, architecture or project management related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in-field in project contractor coordination including budget management, scheduling, and directing contractors on-site.
  • Exposure in industrial or institutional cost estimating.
  • Strong skills in onsite coordination and problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation skills.
  • Able to read and interpret construction documents, schedules, and building codes and able to use a tape measure for field investigation.
  • Strong understanding of construction terms, full construction assemblies, CSI Master Format, and scheduling and implementation methods.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

A successful candidate may also have:

  • Builder's license or similar construction credentials.
  • Experience reading AutoCAD drawings electronically or printed.
  • Experience with Peoplesoft ERP and Microsoft Project software.
  • Experience with the procurement and planning of office system furniture and interior finishes.
