This position advocates and supports Parker's Win Strategy through the increase in knowledge and
capabilities of Parker's Manufacturing Operations in Livingston, TN.
The focus will be on Automation, Robotics and Vision applications, with the primary objective for
Continuous Improvement.
Responsible to lead and drive application development and utilization of technologies into Parker
Operations for efficiency gains, quality improvements, safety, and competitive advantage. Support engineering function with significant research and product / process development toward long-range business impact.
Develops necessary processes, applications, system solutions, tools, and training materials.
Project plan ownership is expected in tracking and reaching goals and objectives.
Scope/Supervision and Interaction:

Essential Functions:
• Develop and apply capabilities in automation, robotics, and vision systems to Parker Operations.
Work with Group/Division/Plant Manufacturing Engineering and Plant Operations personnel to
identify opportunities and develop solutions.
• Keep Parker current with emerging technologies and improvements.
• Provide expert technical assistance for automation, robot, and vision applications.
• Develop and deliver training and education on robot and vision systems application and
programming.
• Robot safety expert. Champion documentation, education, and adherence to all applicable
regulations and standards including, but not limited to: RlS.06 and TS15066. Educate and train
Parker resources in safety disciplines, coach, and conduct robot application risk assessments.
Bachelor of Science in one or more of: Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, Manufacturing
Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering required.
C++ or C#, or Java programming experience
Experience with robots and/or servo mechanisms 2-3+ years
Experience with vision applications
Strong proficiency in mathematics
Has strong facilitation skills and ability to effectively communicate and present status, actions,
recommendations, and other technical information with clarity and precision.
Proficient with standard project management tools and practices
Ability to establish and track performance to goals and objectives to complete complex or major
projects, and provide direction to team members toward project milestones.
Self-motivated creative thinker
Flexible in event of sudden priority changes
Experience with Microsoft Office
Experience with AutoCad & Inventor preferred
