Job Summary : The Quality Assurance Receiving Inspector performs initial receiving inspections on all materials and components using established inspection plans, counting scales, hand-held inspection tools, Client standards/requirements and or manufacturer drawings.

Duties/Responsibilities :

  • Uses calipers, scale, duro-gage, planar computer, scanner & other hardware to complete job responsibilities.

-Follows QMS procedures and adheres/assists in keeping the Inspection Department compliant with all ISO/AS9102 requirements on a continuing basis.

-Reads blueprints and specifications to ensure that operations meet production standards.

-Interacts regularly and communicates with Purchasing, Quality, Engineering and Production staff members informing them of any changes, adjustments, missed procedural steps or problems.

-Recommends any necessary adjustments and changes to production processes on an on-going basis.

-Cooperates with manufacturing to prevent non-conforming product and continuously improve processes.

-Document and analyze the conformity of product to required specifications. - Develops, maintains, and posts logs, and forms detailing quality levels, and inspection data.

  • Communicates with Quality Assurance Manager on work load and seeks opportunities to take on additional tasks to ensure Clients meets its goals and objectives.

  • Inspects purchased parts & raw materials for conformance to established quality specifications. Examines items for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit, inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation, according to prints, parts manuals, company standards, and other specifications.

-Compares and verifies quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.

-Consults with supervisor to determine appropriate recommendations and remedies for questionable products.

  • Review quality alerts, corrective actions, and containment activities. Ensure that instructions for inspection or rework is understood and followed by the production associates working in the area.

  • Assists machine operators with part specifications, gages and any other related quality.

-Inspects die molds prior to and after use by machine operators and/or laborers.

  • Conform to the company's culture of quality, service and continuous improvement, while taking personal responsibility for your own actions and treating fellow employees, customers and vendors respectfully and ethically.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret part drawings, product specifications, and other related documentation to product inspection.

In-depth understanding of the product and/or process being inspected.

Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodology.

Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.).

Education and Experience:

High school diploma required.

Technical school education with mathematics emphasis preferred.

Must have a current valid NY driver's license and submit a copy to Human Resources prior to driving for business purposes and/or a company vehicle.

Pay Details: $19.00 per hour
