Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for setting up, adjusting, monitoring, and running die cutting presses and overseeing the stripping of the die cut parts. This role includes detecting cutting defects and informing the manager of possible problems. You will be involved in making liquid packaging, rat traps, Native American Tobacco cartons, and food product cartons.
Responsibilities
Achieve assigned goals in the areas of maintenance, safety, quality, performance, and cost.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity and equipment capabilities, including disassembling and reassembling machinery, overhauling gearboxes, and replacing bearings/bushings.
Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the method and sequence of assembly of parts, machines, or equipment.
Expedite the reentry of down equipment within a manufacturing environment to working condition.
Repair and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies.
Test the performance of electro-mechanical assemblies using test instruments such as multi-meters, volt meters, and amp meters.
Install electronic parts and hardware using soldering equipment and hand tools.
Operate, test, program, and maintain complete manufacturing lines such as beverage filling machines, conveyors, and palletizers.
Source parts from vendors when parts are unavailable or have long lead times; order parts in a timely manner to ensure equipment reliability.
Maintain Maintenance Inventory System to ensure accurate inventories.
Communicate effectively between shifts and other departments, including status of equipment to supervisors/co-workers at the end of shift as well as log book documentation.
Comply with GMP's, SOP's, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
Follow OEM manuals and execute accurate and precise procedures according to those manuals.
Provide assistance and support to all areas in the production facility as assigned by the supervisor/lead.
Gain competence on line circuits and ensure proper hookups are made in the facility.
Report food safety problems and initiate action while supporting SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality.
Essential Skills
Self-motivated, capable of operating with minimal supervision.
Minimum 3-5 years' experience within a mechanical automation field.
Knowledgeable with PLC controllers; familiarity with Hurco, Centurion, Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, and other drive manufacturers is highly helpful.
Experience with VFD's, stretch or blow molding, conveyors, pumps, pneumatic sanitary valves, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Experience with PLCs, instruments, and controls.
Experience with closed cooling systems including evaporator towers, water cooling towers, and chillers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of GED or High School Diploma.
Technical trade, military training, or technical college strongly preferred.
HVAC experience is a plus.
Ability to lift/push/move up to 75lbs and stand/walk/move for up to 8 hours.

Work Environment
The facility operates with a first shift from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The team is very welcoming and close-knit, with most members having over 7 years of tenure. The environment is temperature-controlled and sterile. Personal protective equipment such as hair nets, gloves, and hearing protection are provided (with hair nets being required). The facility emphasizes a supportive and collaborative culture, ensuring employees have the tools and conditions needed for success.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $62400.00/yr.
