HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Responsible for QC Inspection (QCI) of machined parts and raw material. Responsible for representing QC in MRB meetings and expeditiously acting on and closing all assigned internal and external Non-Conformance’s.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Contact supplier to obtain RMA by phone, email, or online methods. • Support and train as needed, all manufacturing with mechanical and visual inspection. • Perform First Article, Work in Process, Final, Visual and FAI inspections. • Ensure proper documentation of machining dimensions, tolerances, process certs, as related to blueprints and customer requirements with support of Engineering. • As needed, assist in completing customer data packages. • Investigate and work to close all assigned internal and external NCs with support of management and QA Coordinator • Attend MRB/NC meetings and close all assigned action items. • Attend and coordinate weekly MRB meetings and document results. • Record and maintain quality records required by the quality procedures. • Willingly accept and share skills and knowledge • Understands and meets quality standards. • Supports and helps to implement new ideas, practices, and procedures. • Understanding of machining processes to assist with root cause problem solving. • Accurately and descriptively communicates information in a useful format. • Monitor Corrective and Preventative Action activities assisting to complete as needed.

• Generate reports from internal databases, distribute reports to various users and/or summarize the data in spreadsheets for management. • Creates and maintains metric on closure time and follows up to verify effectiveness. • Help with various other duties as needed.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5-years applicable work experience • Ability to work on a team or independently while juggling multiple priorities. • Good written and oral communication skills • Good computer skills • Safety and quality conscience • Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, squatting, or walking (frequent) • Ability to use hands/arms for reaching pinching, repetitive tasks, and gripping (frequent) • Ability to lift 45 pounds including unassisted lifts from floor level to heights of 48 inches. • Ability to bend and twist at the neck and waist (frequent) • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction (continuous) • Strong understanding of GD&T and Gage R&R • 5+ years of experience inspecting machined parts. • Strong knowledge of operating automated and/or manual CMM. • Trouble shooting skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • CMM programing experience

  • Experience completing FAI/Quality packages to customers.

  • ISO compliance knowledge

  • Calibration experience

    Physical & Environmental requirements:

  • Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

  • Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

  • Occasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from worksite to another.

  • Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

  • Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.

  • Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

  • Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

  • Occasional exposure to low and high temperatures.

  • Constant sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

  • Constant light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.

  • Occasional medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds.

  • Occasional heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds.

  • Prolonged use of computer monitors.

  • Buddy lifting may be required.
