Job Title: Grant Accountant
Position Overview:
Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Grant Accountant to manage financial aspects of our client's organization’s grant funding. The Grant Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the accurate tracking, reporting, and compliance of all grant funds, ensuring alignment with grant requirements, and supporting the finance team in maintaining the integrity of financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Financial Management:
Oversee the financial tracking and reporting for all grants, including federal, state, and private grants.
Grant Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure that all grant expenditures comply with donor requirements and regulations. Prepare and submit financial reports for grants as required by funders.
Reconciliation:
Reconcile grant accounts, ensuring all expenditures are properly documented and allocated according to grant guidelines.
Budget Monitoring:
Assist in developing grant budgets and monitor expenses to ensure proper use of funds within allocated budgets.
Audit Preparation:
Assist in preparation for audits related to grants. Provide documentation and explanations for any variances.
Communication with Funders:
Act as the primary point of contact for financial inquiries from grantors and ensure timely responses to requests for information.
Internal Coordination:
Collaborate with program managers and other internal teams to ensure accurate tracking of grant activities and expenses.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
CPA or Master’s degree in a related field is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in grant accounting or financial management in a non-profit organization.
Strong understanding of federal and state grant compliance and regulations.
Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Other:
Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and practices is a plus
