Job Summary/Purpose:

Role is responsible for providing support to Distribution Operations and team projects. Distribution Engineering is tasked with developing, delivering, maintaining and validating the Business Unit adherence to policies and procedures. Distribution Engineering is expected to provide a customer centric atmosphere, with an emphasis on safety culture, CI and teamwork environment. Role will require building and maintaining partnerships with operations and other support functions to properly facilitate the development and continuous improvement of the Safety and Reliability of Entergy Arkansas

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to Distribution Engineering day-to-day tasks

  • Travel to work sites within Entergy service territories

  • Support the Development, Delivery and Deployment of assigned Management System components to all applicable business units

  • Develop and monitor observation tools, indicators and actions related to Management System compliance

  • Assist or complete design of jobs that require the use of Asset Management Databases and GDT

Minimum Education required of the position:

  • Seeking engineering major.

  • Junior and Senior candidate with graduation dates of December 2023 and beyond preferred.

  • Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering candidates preferred

  • Must be actively pursuing a bachelors, as indicated above and at minimum classified as a sophomore or beyond.

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is required (on a 4.0 scale)

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

  • General electrical or mechanical engineering knowledge

  • Self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills

  • Must be proficient in MS office tools - Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong and positive team attitude and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to prioritize work and to handle multiple tasks

  • Ability to understand scope and objective of each assignment

Working in a team environment to assist engineers in day-to-day activities including but not limited to:

  • Performing design based on project scoping and site visits

  • Utilizing design software to model surveyed field configurations

  • Preparing operational one-line drawings

  • Validate estimating prices and equipment units, ensuring material is properly ordered

  • Managing projects that are to be delivered to construction

  • Participate in weekly planning coordination calls

  • Work on special projects to assist in improving grid reliability

  • Responding to equipment failures

  • Asset Management database management

  • Support of business analytic processes through data mining and reporting, as well as performing a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis in transmission-related areas such as planning, economic analysis, design & project manage
