Areas of operations include United States and areas in North America, Latin America, South America, and Caribbean or any area clients ask for assistance. The Response Management Consultant (RM Consultant) provides direct support to businesses and agencies in the development and maintenance of their planning, preparedness, and response capabilities, with an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) focus. This support is delivered through assistance in the development of response plans, delivery of training, the design and facilitation of exercises, and the provision of Incident Management Team (IMT) support during responses and exercises. The Consultant will be required to be on call for emergency response and frequent, extended travel. You may also serve as on-call for the CTEH RM crisis management hotline to maintain response readiness of the entire Emergency Response Division.

Salary Range: \$73,400-\$99,700 (commensurate with experience)

ACTIVITIES/TASKS/SCOPE

  • Provide client support to Incident Management Teams (IMTs), Spill Management Teams (SMTs), and Business Continuity Teams during a response;
  • Support CTEH RM in developing and maintaining competent and capable in-house IMT/SMT personnel;
  • Manage the development and delivery of training and exercises for regulatory compliance and company preparedness;
  • Manage client expectations for all areas of training and exercises and deliver the highest quality services possible by utilization of the latest technologies available to CTEH RM and the client;
  • Support entities in the design and execution for all levels of exercises/drills, which may include participation by external parties;
  • Design and deliver training courses at different levels, i.e., ERT, IMT, IST and CMT;
  • Support and contribute to the development of Emergency Response, Tactical Response, and Business Continuity plans;
  • Support clients by conducting assurance activities, including gap assessments, as well as providing deep technical expertise;
  • Monitor relevant regulatory requirements and changes;
  • Establish and maintain client communications;
  • Support CTEH RM in expanding and maintaining our network of supporting external consultants and contractors; and,
  • Other such duties as may be required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Preferred: Bachelor\'s degree in Emergency Management, Environmental Science, Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related fields with minimum 5 years\' consulting experience;
  • Extensive technical experience in several niche technical roles within the Response Management, Emergency Response, and/or Business Continuity disciplines including spill response management, firefighting activities, transportation incidents, and hazmat;
  • Deep operational experience in oil and gas industries including domestic and international upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors, and transportation sectors;
  • Previous experience with railroads a plus;
  • Identifiable experience successfully working across different geographical, cultural, and business boundaries;
  • Experience negotiating with and/or presenting to senior level management;
  • Advanced computer skills in a Windows-based platform is required;
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in the English language.

CERTIFICATION/OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • DISA clearance (Required, provided)
  • TWIC clearance (Required, provided)
  • Current valid, unrestricted driver\'s license (Required)
  • Current passport or ability to obtain a passport (Required)
  • Ability to comply with all job specific OSHA requirements
  • Additional industry-related certifications desirable (CEM, CIH, CHMM, CSP, etc.)
