Logoplaste Warehouse Maintenance Manager in Lititz, Pennsylvania
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for managing mechanical reliability for the plant. Supports the Plant and Production Manager with all aspects of mechanical maintenance.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment to meet or exceed company established OEE expectations and customer quality expectations
Follow Lockout/Tag out Policy
Proactive in addressing unsafe conditions on production equipment
Process production equipment and maintain documentation to support process changes
Proactive in addressing inefficiencies of production equipment
Perform maintenance tasks as outlined by Maintenance Manager
Use power tool equipment in the shop in a safe manner to avoid injury or harm to self or other employees
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks as outlined by Maintenance Manager
Proactive in addressing machine inefficiencies during PMs
Evaluate operator checklist and comments prior to performing preventative maintenance to ensure all causes for production inefficiencies are addressed and corrected
Ensure equipment is clean and in "showroom condition" after preventative maintenance is performed on production equipment
Continually evaluate equipment for improvement areas. Tag components or parts that need repair, replacement or improvement as outlined in the TPM guidelines
Perform changeovers with limited downtime
Ensure production equipment is in safe and efficient operation after each changeover
Perform building maintenance as directed by management
Maintain sufficient records to support the SAP parts management by recording parts removed from inventory
Notify Maintenance Manager when parts inventory becomes low or reaches a re-order point
Complete the appropriate documentation required by all work orders
Coordinate with Production Manager as it relates to production equipment training and employee development while providing suggestions for training topics
Promote and participate in good housekeeping habits to ensure plant appearance exceeds management and customer expectations
Perform changeovers with limited downtime, repair and troubleshoot all plant production equipment (blow molding, injection molding and extrusion and all associated equipment; varies by plant)
Support of equipment installation, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications
Identification of complex problems with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic issues on all associated equipment (conveyors, compressors, chillers, programmable controllers, robots); review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Understanding of machine processing and recipe management
Identification of the appropriate tools and equipment needed to complete the job
Ability to work with vendors and/or contractors as required
Implement operational improvements (spoilage, downtime, line speeds, etc.)
Communicate problems, progress reports and continuous improvement ideas to management staff, maintenance, and production personnel
Perform other duties or projects as assigned by manager
COMPENTENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum High School Diploma (or GED/High School Certification); prefer Technical School Certification
3-5 years relevant manufacturing experience in plastics technology or a similar technical area
Ability to clearly communicate technical system issues
Strong mechanical maintenance experience and strong knowledge hand and power tools
Demonstrated understanding of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Good working knowledge of computer systems, including MS Office and SAP
Good "hands on" working approach
Able to work independently, identify problems and improve
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and complete in a timely manner with limited supervision
Good interpersonal skills
Able to work flexible and/or extended hours and weekends as business demands
Able to remain in a stationary position for various times throughout the shift, able to move or traverse in manufacturing area safely, ability to ascend/descend a ladder or stairs, ability to position self to work on manufacturing equipment, must be able to see information postings throughout the facility, visually troubleshoot items on machinery and read directions, documents and signage, ability to frequently move object weighing up to 50-75 pounds and ability work in very hot or very cold conditions.
Ability to drive a forklift and achieve certification
