    Summary of Role:

    This position requires a high skill level in many different technical areas, but focuses primarily on constructing, maintaining, and testing electrical systems and components. The role ensures that production and facility related equipment is maintained in a state of electrical readiness. A successful candidate will bring hands on knowledge to our manufacturing processes as well as share a commitment to improve the performance of our equipment. This role is important to the uptime and overall plant productivity.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assure equipment availability and readiness to meet the production schedule requirements and throughput rates established for the workcenters.

  • Maintain uptime on all production equipment to meet throughput rates on a consistent and reliable basis.

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical machine problems quickly, perform effective troubleshooting of equipment, tools and process to maintain production of machinery. When appropriate, seek additional technical support, as required.

  • Technician is the machine expert and should possess ability to run, operate and pass operator certification for assigned workcenter.

  • Consistently follows all lockout/tagout policies & procedures and applies that knowledge at all times when working on equipment and machinery.

  • Operates forklift and high lift equipment.  Must be certified and demonstrate safe operation of  equipment at all times.

  • Complete set ups in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with all scheduled production requirements.

  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers in improving the performance of equipment and processes and participate in the implementation of ideas that reduce downtime and improve overall productivity.

  • Assure that spare parts are stocked and available for immediate use, to minimize downtime. Work with Inventory Specialist to identify part numbers.

  • Provide quality instruction, education and support to other Manufacturing Technicians and production operators.

  • Demonstration of safety awareness and execution of safety policies and procedures at all times, while maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.

  • Will assist in operations, in any way deemed essential to meet Woodstream’s production requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER SKILLS:

  • HSD / GED required or proven on the job related technical experience

  • 3-5 years of combined work experience in maintenance or high volume manufacturing environment.

  • Ideally, candidate will have a certification in hydraulic, electrical, or pneumatics.

  • An understanding of basic math skills.

  • The ability to use basic measurement tools.

  • Hands on experience with basic machining tools.

  • The ability to perform basic electrical troubleshooting.

  • Ability to perform basic mechanical troubleshooting

  • Set-up/troubleshooting, repair and maintenance experience in a machine based manufacturing environment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Effective problem solving skills directed at increasing throughput, quality and safety.

  • Ability to continually learn and develop new skills and knowledge.

  • Methodical and effective troubleshooting skills.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Initiative to pursue both personal and team goals and objectives.

  • Proficiency in reading and writing English

  • Ability to pass the T1 qualification test in English
