Description

The shift for this position is 10a-6:30p.

The VPP Therapist is responsible for working autonomously to conduct therapies and training as assigned; provide clinical consultation to staff; implement individualized, strengths-based, culturally competent clinical and support services including on-going assessment, individual therapy, treatment planning, skill development, behavior management and system coordination. The position requires the ability to engage with individuals in a trauma-informed manner, and to model effective ways of engaging with resources to support healing. MINIMUM EDUCATION: Masters degree in social work or counseling or related field; Full licensure in a counseling area such as LMSW, LPC or LMFT preferred.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience; experience working with high-risk and system-impacted youth and young adults experiencing complex trauma preferred.

  • Willingness to utilize trauma-informed and healing centered modalities to engage clients and individuals.

  • Experience or training in crisis intervention strongly preferred.

  • Commitment to working toward positive community change.

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Technical expertise that allows well informed decisions, usage of available tools and resources and training to execute job responsibilities.

  • JUDGEMENT:

  • Incumbent may work under close supervision following established routines or assigned work with limited employee latitude.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY CATEGORY:

  • Case Management -Complete thorough assessments on assigned clients, assessing clients strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences within the designated time frames; design individualized treatment plans that reflect the assessed needs and preferences of program participants, building on their strengths, resources and abilities.

  • Manage caseloads of program participants; collaborate with violence intervention specialists to develop risk reduction and individualized success plan and ensure effective case management and enhance participant outcomes.

Community Engagement:

  • Assist in facilitation of trainings, workshops, and group sessions with VPP participants and broader community as assigned.

Documentation:

  • Document all contact with clients and potential clients consistently and accurately using internal data management system, according to agency standards; track participant attendance in groups and activities as well as behavioral outcomes; Participate in the review of clinical issues and program policies and procedures.

Teamwork and Collaboration:

  • Participate in clinical staffing, treatment team meetings, and other meetings as required. Fully participate in weekly one-on-one sessions with direct supervisor, weekly team meetings, and other meetings as required.

  • Work collaboratively on transdisciplinary team with other specialists, hospital personnel and service providers to supplement case management support for clients; Provide education to help non-peer team members to understand clients unique experiences, perspectives and needs.
