WestRock Company Maintenance Specialist in Lithia Springs, Georgia

Lithia Springs is seeking candidates to apply for the Maintenance Specialist position within the FLEXO and Digital Presses.

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Specialist position is responsible for repairing and maintaining automated machinery or robotics but can also execute smaller projects as needed for continuous improvement and upgrades.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Follow all established safety rules and regulations and utilize required safety equipment. Report any unsafe conditions/hazards immediately.

  • Ask questions, absorb and retain process knowledge.

  • Assists in other areas of the plant as needed

  • Coordinate and direct production work flow; ensure quality standards, production efficiencies and timely completion of work orders are met

  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to production, and quality issues; maintain a physical presence in the plant

  • Troubleshooting and implementing software changes to Allen Bradley© Compact© and ControlLogix© 5000 platform of PLC\u2019s

  • Troubleshooting and implementing software changes using Siemens S7 and TIA Portal for Siemens Plcs

  • Working and troubleshooting Siemens Motor Drives and Encoders

  • Ability to design, install, small scale automation/control improvement projects and support larger scale capital projects implemented at sites

  • AC/DC power wiring

  • Support production from a mechanical standpoint

  • Assist with machine related quality issues

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental rules and regulations; create and maintain a safe and secure work environment

  • Interact with various departments and personnel, including other shift supervisors, set-up team, and temporary staffing agency (when applicable) to assure production requirements are met

  • Assist with development and maintenance of cost-effective efficiency and quality improvements

  • Assist Management in executing operating strategies and plans, and achieving company goals and objectives

  • Support the maintenance crew in meeting or exceeding the goals in Safety, Quality, Cost, Production, Environmental and Housekeeping

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED; some college or training in a technical field

  • A minimum of 7 years experience working with automation

  • A minimum of 7 years experience working with Robots

  • Must have experience working with PLCs Preferably Siemens/Allen Bradley

  • Must be able to read electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings

  • Familiar with Vision systems

  • Ability to work on Live Circuitry (Trouble Shooting) and must have one of the following:

  • Associates from a trade school in electronics

  • Military Electrical Certificate

  • A Journeyman\u2019s License Certificate

  • Electrical Engineer Degree

  • Internal applicants ONLY

  • TPC completion Certificate for the appropriate Electrical Requirements

  • Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and basic computer skills.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

The Maintenance Specialist position requires prior mechanical experience of at least seven (7) years corrugated (and or print) industry experience and experience in the operation of the same or similar equipment. Excellent math and communications skills (verbal and written) are also required as is the ability to differentiate colors.
