International Product Manager - Bus Applications in Lisle, Illinois

Position Overview

It’s an exciting time to be at International, as we work to accelerate the impact of sustainable mobility throughout North America and, with our TRATON GROUP colleagues, worldwide.

Internaltional’s Aftersales Product team is strong and growing to match the pace of opportunity, and the Product Manager - Bus Applications will be essential to that growth. Reporting to International’s Director of Product Management, this role will be responsible for the deliverables outlined below.

This position will be based in Lisle, Illinois with hybrid work (2 days per week remote). This role requires up to 35% travel.

In this role, you will analyze market trends through dealer performance metrics for International’s Aftermarket Parts segments: Bus, Seats, Exhaust, Belts, and Hoses along with supporting Navistar’s private label aftermarket brand in these categories. This position is accountable for development and execution of product marketing plans to achieve incremental, profitable growth through collaboration with dealer and fleet sales teams.

You will identify opportunities for growing existing categories and recommend new product introduction opportunities. Your work will require project management experience and collaboration with several internal teams including procurement, sales, dealer operations, marketing, and distribution. You will oversee market research, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs as well as establish pricing strategies.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for growing product categories include but are not limited to:

  • Integrate with IC Bus Commercial/Customer Solutions Team Internally

  • Rationalization of Current Product Offering

  • Product viability

  • Customer capture and retention

  • Life cycle management

  • Involvement in key sourcing decisions

  • Product and private label performance and positioning

The Product Manager will also be responsible for the following areas:

  • Manage the Bus Product Line with International’s North American Parts organization

  • Support International’s aftermarket private label brand

  • Work with cross-functional teams to initiate, manage and execute new product launch and a mange life cycle of current products

  • Develop pricing RFQ’s and spot quotes to secure sales and penetrate market presence

  • Develop pricing strategies for current and future products

  • Track revenue and margin by maintaining a KPI matrix and report results effectively to leadership

  • Create promotional materials and develop strategies for Go-to market success

  • Collaborate with Sales, National Account Managers, and other internal and external resources to retrieve market feedback and ensure customer satisfaction

  • Manage projects with focus on strategic goals and time requirements

  • Gather data and conduct in-depth analysis of market share and look for areas for development

  • Identify opportunities aligned with company strategies and sales targets

  • Work closely with other product managers, marketing, and outside sales team to support private label brand

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 5 years of marketing, sales or product-related experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • at least 3 years of marketing, sales or product-related experience

OR

  • At least 7 years of marketing, sales or product-related experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

• Person must be self-motivated and have strong desire to go beyond his or her job scope to meet short- and long-term strategic goals

• Prior Bus industry experience is a plus

• Background in product management with proven record of meeting deadlines and executing growth plans

• Experience in marketing/brand management with an understanding of product positioning

• Ability to execute and effectively track product promotions

• Experience with life cycle management

• Self-motivated with desire to win and learn

• Ability and to collaborate and build internal relationships with cross-functional teams

• Gather and analyze research and competitive intelligence to drive key strategic plans

• Prior experience managing and developing direct reports
