Position Description: JMT is seeking a Full-Time Project Accountant to assist at a client site.
MAA’s Office of Finance is seeking a resources for a full time staff support position to support Finance Accounting administrative, reporting and GL functions. Prefer full time but any resources at this juncture would be beneficial.
Specifically, this resource (s) would (1) track invoices or billing; (2) develop and manage trackers for various expenses; requests, and payments; (3) conduct data entry to populate analysis and reports; (4) prepare journal entries, complete backup documentations and reconcile accounts (AP- AR) assigned , (5) complete accounting entries in FMIS/Mstars and EPICS.
Work location will be within the Office of Finance for the MAA located at 991 Corporate Blvd, Linthicum, MD.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Proficient in Excel
Knowledge of accounting principles and a basic understanding of reviewing, recording, and coding invoices for payment
Familiar with bookkeeping and tracking financial data
Skill in calculating percentages
Skill in resolving problems associated with incomplete, inaccurate, or conflicting data and in reconciling/correcting errors
Skill in Service orientation, team working and effective communication
Ability to prepare financial reports and data exports
Required SkillsRequired Experience
High school diploma or equivalent and related experience, Associates Degree preferred
Proficient in Office 365 applications including Excel, Word and Powerpoint

- Experience working in accounting operations, experience in multi-discipline consulting engineering/ architectural office is preferred
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
