Job Title: Project Manager - Building Automation SystemsJob Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in building automation systems and industrial control systems. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience as a project engineer or engineering project manager. You will be responsible for overseeing project planning, staffing, subcontractor buyouts, material tracking, job site progress, communication plans, financial forecasting, billing coordination, and collections tracking. This role requires a collaborative mindset and a 'can do' attitude to ensure project success.
Responsibilities
Lead Sales to Operations turnover meetings to hand over project responsibility and lay out deliverables and responsibilities.
Track hardware design status and process.
Plan manpower staffing with Design Engineering Team Leader, Software Development Team Leader, and Construction Manager (Field Engineer Team Leader).
Plan the project timeline and deliverables.
Buy out subcontractors for field trade work, primarily low voltage electrical work, and occasionally mechanical or other technical contractors.
Track material buyout and status.
Oversee job site progress in collaboration with lead technicians and construction managers.
Own the project's communication plan to ensure all stakeholders are informed and comfortable.
Forecast project labor and expenses for financial reporting.
Coordinate project billing and track collections.
Identify and price changes in project scope.
Foster a collaborative and proactive project environment.
Essential Skills
Over 5 years of experience as a project engineer or engineering project manager.
Project management and project engineering skills.
Experience with building automation systems and industrial control systems.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Experience with energy management systems preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to work collaboratively with a team of 6 other project managers.
Experience with industrial controls.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Work Environment
This position offers 50%-60% remote work flexibility. Current project sites include commercial offices, mixed-use buildings, laboratories, pharmaceutical facilities, universities, and multi-unit residential buildings.
