Insight Global Project Engineer in Lincolnshire, Illinois

Job Description

The primary role of the Project Engineer is to perform all project engineering functions required for internal and client projects. This position will be responsible for coordinating technical, commercial, and scheduling issues to ensure successful projects from the time of a sale to project commissioning.

Essential Responsibilities:

· Designs systems and components within the organizations catalog

· Creates Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing drawings

· Coordinates with the electrical team for effective design and integration

· Implements a system of drawing standards across the product line

· Works with Supply Chain to standardize major components within defined categories

· Evaluates the product overall performance, safety and reliability.

· Participates in lab testing to understand client needs

· Participates in machine run-offs when necessary to ensures that designs are followed and discrepancies are resolved.

· Acts as primary client liaison during the project for all project requirements and documentation including approval and certified drawings, P&IDs, SOPs, change orders, project schedules, and shipping details.

· Creates system and some machine drawings, resolves drawing questions with shop, and coordinates with colleagues from other Probat sites on drawings and details that do not originate from project engineers office.

· Obtains and updates vendor quotes, enters necessary information for material & component orders in MAS system, requests purchase orders, and manages equipment orders with vendors, including specifications, drawings, delivery schedules, etc.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience in Engineering/Project Management role focused on machinery design and drawings

 - Creating flow diagrams to show to customers

Drawing tool experience with AutoCad, Inventor, or SolidWorks

Comfortable with domestic & international travel SAGE or ERP System Experience null
