Job Title: Turret Punch Press Operator
Job Description
The Turret Specialist is responsible for operating and defining processes and standards for turret operation, as well as tool inventory, handling, and reordering while maintaining best practices for programming.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate a turret punch/laser combo machine to punch, cut, and shape metal sheets.
Follow schedules provided by WAC and provide updates as needed.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine specifications.
Select appropriate tooling, dies, and punch patterns, as well as configure laser settings for optimal cutting performance.
Load and unload materials onto the machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning.
Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to maintain quality standards.
Perform routine maintenance, including changing tools, cleaning the machine, and checking laser components.
Troubleshoot issues related to both the punch and laser systems and perform minor repairs as needed.
Maintain a safe work environment.
Essential Skills
Minimum 3 years' experience operating turret equipment.
Minimum 2 years' forklift experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Amada or Finn Power experience preferred.
Turret programming experience preferred.
Work Environment
Hours are Monday to Thursday from 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM with some overtime on Fridays, which is usually mandatory. New candidates start on Mondays for orientation together. The team size is hoping to grow to 35 people.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
