FHU is currently looking for an environmental science intern to join us in our Lincoln or Omaha Nebraska office. This position is for the summer of 2025.

Requirements
Responsibilities of the internship will include:
Assisting in data collection, technical analyses, and written documentation
Assist in client contact and participate in presentations for specific projects in a supporting role
Perform assignments as directed by the technical professionals and project managers
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Internship Qualifications
Undergraduate (Junior or higher status) or Graduate student in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Physical Geography/Environmental Science, or other closely related field (e.g. Biology)
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Ability and willingness to accommodate field work conditions (e.g. summer heat) and overnight travel
Basic ArcGIS data collection and/or mapping
Basic Microsoft Office skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail
The ideal candidate would have one or more of the following skills or qualifications:
Plant identification
Knowledge or ecology and wetlands
Soil identification/soil science
Knowledge of hydrology/geomorphology
Coding (Python)
Basic knowledge of NEPA and other environmental regulations (state/federal)
Benefits
The pay for this position starts at $22 hourly.
