Job Title: Production Liaison Engineer Job Location: Lima, OH Hourly Rate: Up to $75hr depending on experience. Due to the nature of the work, this role may require on-site presence of 100%. Job Summary: Come join our team! We currently have an exciting possible Temp-to-Perm opportunity in Lima, OH for a Production Liaison Engineer with a focus on supporting design for manufacturing (DFM) across an array of one of our signature platform vehicles and other products that company produces. The Engineer will serve as a product representative for various combat vehicle programs and be a technical liaison to government representatives, JSMC leadership, and Sterling Heights engineering functions. Job Description: Serve as a product representative for various combat vehicle programs and be a technical liaison to government representatives, outside engineering functions. Responsible for working with a broader concurrent engineering and manufacturing team to successfully design, integrate, and validate complex engineering designs. Principal support role to address manufacturing problem report and design for manufacturing improvements of mechanical and/or electrical systems and installations. Lima product representative interfacing with the company's plant and division programs, division staff and customer program staff at all levels Perform problem analysis, drawing/model corrective actions, and new design functions for US Operations Engineering in support of JSMC production efforts. Lead design for manufacturing reviews and improvements to drive faster production readiness and efficiency. Conduct failure analysis and corrective action along with responsible for technical writing and presentations. Technical Data Package interpretation and clarification responsibilities Leads and assists in the design functions with other dedicated design departments within the organization. Develops and integrates components into vehicle platforms to meet vehicle performance requirements including human factors, safety, environmental, ballistic and mine blast requirements. Conducts design, integration and analysis of components and subsystems. Applies engineering analytical skill sets for design. Leads various projects by doing analysis & design, drawing mark-ups, and generating source data for engineering changes. Responsible for writing material requests and shop work requests, track delivery and stock of parts, participate in integration reviews, fit checks, and write reports. Provides leadership and support to prototype and production vehicle build and follow-up, technical corrective action formulation, troubleshooting and redesign activities. This role will design and release components and subsystems for military ground vehicles. This includes the application of engineering principles to generate designs to solve complex problems and provide support for the build, test, and production of the designs. The lessons learned at JSMC will be leveraged to aid the design community to develop new products. Minimum Qualifications / What you must have: 10 plus years of experience in a related role desired. Experience in a lead engineering role with expertise on Combat Vehicle platforms, heavy equipment, or industrial design desired. Demonstrated understanding of engineering principals in chosen expertise (i.e., structures, powertrain, etc....) Experience supporting prototype and/or production build activities. Experience with root cause and corrective activities. Solid modeling experience with NX and/or Creo. This role will require the candidate to work well in a team environment as well as individual contributor.
