TEKsystems Install Technician in Lihue, Hawaii

TEKsystems is working with a company in Kapolei (Oahu) that started supporting the DoD and other commercial companies in the different islands of Hawaii to help with cabling, installing phones, fibering, installing badge scanner, and upgrading computer systems. This role is a full-time opportunity in Lihue, Kauai and must be on site. Training, a vehicle, and tools will be provided for the job! Qualification:

  • No previous experience is needed.

  • Ability to carry and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to pass a drug test and have a valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to operate a vehicle.

  • Must have a GED or high school diploma.

  • Must be able to work on-site from 7 am – 4 pm, Monday through Friday.With opportunity for overtime if desired, anything over 40 hours is time and a half pay

Job Description

  • Install phones and badge scanners and upgrade computer systems.

  • Construct proper splice cases, including grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage, and sealing.

  • Perform work in accordance with industry standards.

  • Interpret buried underground and aerial telecom facilities in records, maps, and the field; make recommendations for changes in running lines or construction methodologies.

  • Maintain inside and outside plant records during installation.

  • Perform routine maintenance.

  • Recognize and repair route issues, including maintenance and hand hole cleanup, and sign placement.

  • Connect wires and cables to terminals and attach/detach various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles.

  • Respond to and participate in emergency and outage situations requiring heavy construction capabilities.

  • Ensure all work considers the safety of the customer and public and complies with governmental orders.

  • Work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions.

  • Complete daily production reports and As-Built documentation.

Rate: Starting pay is $19.00/hour on contract, and once converted, your pay will increase.
