Actalent Electrical Field Engineer in Liberty, North Carolina

Job Title: Electrical Field EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Field Engineer to support our BEV Projects. The ideal candidate will facilitate electrical building system startups and commissioning activities, provide expert assistance in reviewing product and equipment submittals, and coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover to end users. Responsibilities also include working with contractors during weekend and plant shutdowns, conducting work progress inspections, supporting construction administration activities, conducting inspections and observations of electrical building systems, and overseeing work of electrical contractors to ensure adherence to project delivery methods and schedule milestone targets. The role demands preparing field engineering status reports, providing input to improve project technical specifications, and effectively communicating technical matters both written and verbally.

Hard Skills

  • Knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA requirements for electrical installations

  • Extensive knowledge of building codes and industry standards (IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, FM)

  • Experience in electrical system startups & commissioning

  • Proficiency in reviewing engineering design drawings and specifications

  • Ability to oversee electrical contractors and ensure project adherence

Soft Skills

  • Ability to multi-task and manage time

  • Strong prioritization skills

  • Effective communication in written and verbal forms

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 104 Weekly.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Liberty, North Carolina.

Work Environment

The work environment involves coordination with multiple groups including contractors, plant facilities, and manufacturing shops. It requires handling of weekend and plant shutdown work, continuous work progress inspections, and engagement in weekly coordination meetings and planned utility outages.
