BAE Systems Production Technician I/II in Lexington Park, Maryland

In this role, you will:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings for the fabrication and installation of cabling and equipment.

  • Assemble and integrate various communication systems into a variety of military and government agency platforms such as boats, vehicles, buildings and transit cases.

  • Fabricate a variety of RF, data and power cables using solder and crimp techniques.

  • Work with quality control, engineering, project managers and other functional groups to provide feedback and resolve issues.

  • Build kits to deliver to off-site installations.

  • Travel all over the world in support of our various customers.

All work is performed according to industry best practice and MIL standards in accordance with quality assurance standards.

The hourly rate for this position is set by the Department of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is 22.92 (Engineering Technician I) / $25.72 (Engineering Technician II). Candidates with additional years of experience may be considered for a higher-level role.

The position is located in Lexington Park, MD. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing or state willingness to relocate self to local or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • High School Diploma

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with a range of hand and power tools

  • Ability to frequently work in a sitting, standing or walking position

  • Ability to frequently lift and carry 10 pounds and occasionally lift and carry 50 pounds

  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights and work with hazardous material

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. driver's license

  • Ability to obtain a passport and to travel up to 50% of the year within the U.S. and overseas

  • Basic operational skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings and specific instructions

  • Residential/Commercial electrical or mechanical installation experience

  • Soldering and cable fabrication experience

  • Metalwork fabrication and assembly experience

  • Fiber fabrication certification

Pay Information

This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
