Currently we have a Senior Design Engineer (Mech) open. As a member of the Engineering team, one will design mechanisms, structures and controls for crane products to meet Link-Belt goals of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Environmental.Essential Job FunctionsDesign or redesign component assemblies and parts of new and existing machinesService as Design Project Leader and Cross Functional Team Leader when assignedProvide status reports as neededGenerate cost effective designsEstablish project time estimatesWrite project appropriationsWrite test plansPlan and supervise test of new and redesigned productsPerform a full range of theoretical calculations and select the most appropriate materialsBe aware of and keep up to date on applicable crane codes and standards (SAE, ISO, PCSA, etc.)Be aware of machine field service problems and take corrective actionDirect and check the work of others on specific projects or sub-projects (drawings, calculations, bill of materials, etc.)Provide technical guidance to others inside and outside the departmentEnsure organization and maintenance of machine calculations General qualifications for this role: Four (4) year college degreeBS in an engineering discipline (preferably mechanical)Minimum of four (4) year of proven design experience in the crane industry or seven (7) years in the heavy equipment industry
