Lockheed Martin Environment, Safety and Health Intern in Lexington, Kentucky
Description: Calling all College Students! Come join Lockheed Martin, Missiles and Fire Control in Lexington, KY, for a Summer Environmental, Safety, and Health Internship.
The Lexington Operations is a multi-shift manufacturing facility with military equipment maintenance and modification, distribution, warehousing and storage, and administrative and office type work. The facility currently has approximately 1,300 employees and provides products to offsites. Lexington has a combination of automated processes and labor intensive manufacturing.
The successful candidate will assist the ESH team in updating work hazard analyses and identifying/recognizing day to day hazards in the workplace during periodic walkarounds. Additional assignments may include conducting noise monitoring, assisting with air sampling and quarterly ventilation checks, assisting with environmental projects (i.e. air, wastewater, hazwaste), and assist in finalizing the confined space program. The successful candidate will assist in report writing following the air and noise sampling and research for projects to ensure compliance with best practices and local, state and federal regulations.
Candidates must have good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
This position will be located at a facility that requires special access and requires the selected candidate to be a U.S. Citizen.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field.
Candidate must have a Cumulative GPA minimum of 3.0
Desired Skills:
Preferred, but not required, that the candidate be proficient in Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
Preferred that the candidate is skilled at problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Rotating 40 hour week as assigned by leader
