Growth Ortho Clinical/Casting Technician in Lexington, Kentucky

Bluegrass Orthopaedics is hiring a full-time Clincal/Cast Technician in Lexington, KY. The Clinical/Cast Tech is responsible for assisting our Providers in a clinical setting. They will use their casting skills to apply cast/DME following protocols given by the Physician. Job Relationship 1. Reports to Clinical Supervisor/Director of Clinical Operations 2. Positions supervised: none 3. Non-Exempt position Qualifications 1. Preferred completion of accredited training program for clinical assisting or a combination of education/work experience in the clinical setting of a medical office. Job Knowledge 1. EMR/PMS Greenway Intergy preferred 2. MIPS 3. Medical Terminology 4. OSHA 5. Healthcare compliance Skills and Abilities 1. Ability to obtain patient vital signs 2. Cast/DME application and removal 3. Exceptional customer service skills 4. Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow. 5. Strong communication skills Responsibilities 1. Assist physician/physician assistant in exam rooms as needed. 2. Completes reviews for scheduled clinics. 3. Apply and remove casts/DME. 4. Educate patients on DME products and cast care. 5. Obtains vital signs and brief history related to office visit. 6. Documents patient medical information in EHR 7. Maintains supplies and performs periodic cleaning as delegated. 8. Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls. 9. Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patients’ medical record prior to their appointment. 10. Assists in completion of required medical forms related to patient visit. 11. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Physical Requirements 1. Good visual acuity, hand-finger dexterity, ability to speak and hear. 2. Able to lift and carry in excess of 25 pounds, which may require pushing, pulling and essentially utilizing a full range of body movement. 3. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, grasp and stand for extended periods of time. Standards: 1. Understands and follows the standards of the Bluegrass Orthopaedic Employee Manual 2. Understands and follows the Bluegrass Practice Responsibility Program, Code of Conduct and completes all yearly compliance trainings and educational programs.
