How You’ll Make an Impact

The purpose of this strategic position is to strengthen and develop VGO North America DIFM distribution channels to improve service levels to a rapidly growing direct sold business (includes VRS) while also developing growth models for increase gallons across our indirect channels.

With the rapid consolidation occurring in the lubricant distribution industry and our need to control our outcomes, VGO must accelerate our focus to design and assess current indirect distribution channels, develop action plans to improve, and proactively seek alternatives. This is strategic work that involves development of a 5-year roadmap for required changes stemming from under-performance, consolidation, and/or change of ownership of current independent channel partners (distributors). The development of a 5-year roadmap requires interactions with supply chain, operations, finance, legal, the DIFM commercial leadership team, and external channel partners (distributors). Significant business and financial acumen are required to analyze current state of service, develop multiple scenarios to pursue, and build business cases (including required investments) to recommend to North America and VGO executive teams for endorsement and approval.

  • Design and implement channel partner assessment tool for all channel partners. Collaborate with supply chain using data to identify current underperforming service level geographies and ensure that our CP leadership creates action plans with timelines to improve. Oversight to ensure that all CPs understand where the stand and what needs to be improved.

  • Develop business cases for back up plans in geographies where we are not aligned on our overall assessment tool (alignment, sales, marketing, organizational, operational, financial). This would require presentation to VGO executive committee on capital investments.

  • Develop business case back up plans for strategic geographies served by PE owned distributors that present risk due to change in ownership. This would require presentations to VGO executive committee on capital investments.

  • Develop business case back up plans in geographies that are ongoing bottom service level performers. This would require presentations to VGO executive committee on capital investments.

  • Create a 5-year prioritized roadmap for ICLT and VGO executive team on business cases produced including alternatives sought, recommended changes, investments (capex) required, and ROI.

  • Collaborate and communicate cross functionally with supply chain, operations, ICLT, finance, treasury, and legal to ensure alignment on road-mapping, business cases, and options.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience

  • 7-10 years of experience in distribution

  • Relationship / Partnership

  • Supply Chain related fields including distribution, logistics, purchasing, and/or customer service.

  • Experience managing vendor & customer relationships

  • Partnerships with sales

  • Data analysis

  • Project Management

  • Process development and implementation

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Working knowledge of SAP and Salesforce.com experience

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
