Job Summary
The University of Kentucky College of Dentistry is seeking applications for Assistant, Associate or Professor in the Division of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery. This is a full time, 12-month assignment period, Special Title Series, tenure track eligible position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Professor. The anticipated start date for this assignment is July 1, 2024.
This is a faculty position with emphasis on instructional activities. The primary responsibility of this position is to organize and execute the programs related to teaching of oral and maxillofacial surgery to doctoral and postdoctoral level students with greater emphasis on the doctoral program.
Responsibilities may include directing one or more courses with attendant course preparation and development responsibilities. Patient care is an important part of the service commitment along with teaching and limited clinical research.

Responsibilities:
Teaching:
• Active participation in the clinical and didactic teaching_ of doctoral students within the College of Dentistry curriculum. This involves day-to-day supervision of students in the clinic and consultation to other clinical disciplines within the College.
• Serve as course director for clinical and didactic oral and maxillofacial surgery courses.
• Responsible for academic and personal advising of dental students assigned by the Student Affairs Office.
• Supervising other residents and students from other disciplines in the clinical performance of
oral and maxillofacial surgery.
• Transmitting evaluations of students to the appropriate office in Student Affairs.
• Serving as coordinator of doctoral student education in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Creative Productivity and Research:
• Participate in education or clinical research activities related to the teaching or practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery. When possible, results should be published in abstract form or in journal articles.

Service/Patient Care:
• Maintain clinical proficiency and provide service through direct patient care, both inpatient and outpatient.

Professional Development:
• Actively participate in professional meetings and committees related to oral and maxillofacial surgery on the local, state and national level. Attend courses to augment and enhance professional goals and institutional needs.
Administration:
• Serve on appropriate College, Hospital, and University Committees.
Qualifications:
DMD or DDS degree or combined DMD/DDS and MD
• Board eligibility or certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
• Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice experience, consistent with years of residency education
• Eligibility for Kentucky licensure

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
