CITY OF LEWISTOWN Wasteworker I or II in LEWISTOWN, Montana
Full time position. A probationary period of six months will be required
WAGE:: $18.50 - $20.97/hr DOE
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under close supervision, performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor tasks in the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility and collection system.Work varies, may require individual judgment. The employee will learn to run and analyze lab tests for quality control.
DUTIES:
Operate the wastewater treatment plant and operate equipment to clean and maintain the sewer collection system. Assist in assuring treatment is meeting established standards of quality. May perform the task of gathering samples, performing laboratory tests and analysis, read meters and gauges to verify operating conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is primarily that of a laborer and duties may involve physical work requiring walking, crawling, climbing, and lifting/moving up to 50lbs. Must have the ability to taste, smell, hear and speak clearly. Hazards are moderate, requiring care and use of proper safety equipment and procedures to prevent injury. Employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxins or caustic chemicals and frequently to material contaminated with pathogens related to human fluids.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a high school graduate or its equivalent
Must possess a Montana Drivers license
Must take the Montana Wastewater certification exam class 1C
Must be able to obtain CDL Class B with tanker endorsement.
