Covenant Health NURSE DIRECTOR - Emergency Department in Lewiston, Maine

The starting rate for this position is: $42.67

The rate of pay displayed reflects the beginning of the pay scale. At the time of an offer, the determination of your offer will reflect your skills and experience as it relates to the position.

Job Summary

The Nurse Director, ED functions as the clinical and administrative Director for the Emergency Department and has 24 hours/7-day accountability for quality and operational excellence.

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required. A Master’s degree preferred.

  • Current Maine RN license required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.

  • National Certification in specialty preferred.

  • A minimum of 2 years of Nursing Leadership experience is required and a minimum of two years of nursing experience in the ED.

  • Basic Dysrhythmia is preferred or obtained before completion of orientation.

  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training is preferred or obtained before completion of orientation.

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

  • Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment, and problem-solving techniques in the decision-making process.

  • Ability to positively handle high-stress situations.
