Job Title: Tax Associate

Aston Carter is working with a financial services client that is seeking to hire a Tax Associate on their growing team! They are seeking candidates with 3+ years of tax experience and knowledge of tax prep software. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in tax for high net worth clients!

Job Description:

The Tax Associate will play a key role in supporting various tax-related activities, including tax preparation, tax planning, IRS notice responses, and software initiatives.

Primary Duties:

• Perform tax preparation tasks, including gathering client information, preparing tax returns, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.

• Develop tax plans and strategies to help clients minimize tax liabilities and achieve their financial goals.

• Prepare responses to IRS notices and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of tax-related issues.

• Collaborate with managers on various tax projects, contributing insights and recommendations to enhance client outcomes.

• Champion software initiatives such as SurePrep, leveraging technology to streamline tax preparation processes and improve efficiency.

• Attend meetings to gain valuable insights and knowledge, serving as a note-taker and providing follow-up support as needed.

• Mentor and develop intern staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and capabilities.

• Serve as a liaison with regional schools to establish internship programs and recruit top talent to join our team.

Required Skills:

  • Accounting/Finance Degree required

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience preparing taxes for individuals and businesses required

  • Tax Preparation software experience

  • CPA eligible
