The City of Lenexa-s Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for part-time, year-round Recreation Program Instructors - Preschool at our Rec Center.

Position Summary

Instructs Lenexa Parks and Recreation program participants in recreation classes. Prepares curriculum and presents it to participants as a positive first contact on behalf of the City. Assist preschoolers with various activities including but not limited to arts, crafts, science activities, and activity centers.

Key Responsibilities

• Creates and plans course curriculum, developing materials and programs that can continually be used by the City.

• Instructs and delivers classes to participants.

• Assists in the promotion of classes including writing materials for Town Talk and/or other marketing material as requested by supervisor.

  Additional Examples of Work Performed

• Assists with special events and festivals as needed.

  Qualifications

  Minimum: High school diploma or G.E.D.; Two years- instruction and customer service experience; Any certification required for an instructor to teach a specific class; CPR/AED certification.

  Desired: General parks and recreation experience.

  Compensation: The starting rate of pay is $16.50 per hour. Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. A background check is required if age 18 and older.
